Electro-Hydraulic Disc Brakes
Normally closed disc brakes with an Ed electro-hydraulic thruster: the spring applies the brake when power is off, the thruster releases it. Six versions by centre height — YPZ₂ I–III and IV–VI; discs 250–1,250 mm, braking torque 200–20,540 N·m, weight 71–295 kg. Shoe clearance equalization, automatic lining wear compensation, self-lubricating hinges, spring in a square tube with torque scale, closing time 0.25–0.4 s. Options: hand release, K1–K3 limit switches, thruster with delay valve; with a BEd thruster the brake is supplied in explosion-proof design.

Hydraulic Safety (Emergency) Brakes
Normally closed hydraulic safety (emergency) brakes for the low-speed shaft, i.e. the drum shaft: clamped by disc spring packs, released by pressure from a hydraulic power unit. SB comes in 7 sizes with clamping force 50–500 kN for discs from 500 mm; SBD-A (100–315 kN, discs 800–1,800 mm), SBD-B (80 and 160 kN), SBD-C (250–425 kN, discs from 1,800 mm), SBD-D (50–240 kN, discs from 600 mm) and SBD-DY (100–250 kN) with an integrated 550 W motor, hydraulic system and control. Non-asbestos linings, release, close and lining wear limit switches; requirements to JB/T 10917-2008.

Electro-Hydraulic Shoe Brakes
Normally closed drum brakes with an electro-hydraulic thruster for hoisting and travel mechanisms of cranes, conveyors, port, metallurgical and mining machinery. Eight sub-series for different mounting standards: YWZ4 (JB/ZQ 4388-86, Ed or YT1 thruster), YWZ5/YWZ9 (GB 6333-1986), YWZ8, YWZ13, YW, YW-L, two-step YW-E and flameproof DYW with a BEd thruster. Drum diameters 100–800 mm, braking torque 40–12,500 N·m. Self-lubricating hinges, shoe clearance equalization, non-asbestos linings; options: wear compensation, K1–K3 limit switches, hand release.

Electro-Hydraulic Thrusters
An electro-hydraulic thruster is a compact unit of an electric motor, centrifugal pump and hydraulic cylinder that actuates drum and disc brakes, valves, gates, swivel (up to 90°) and clamping mechanisms. Ed is made with EMG (West Germany) technology to DIN 15430: short-stroke Ed23/5…Ed301/6 (220–3,000 N, stroke 40–60 mm) and long-stroke Ed50/12…Ed630/12 (up to 6,300 N, stroke 120 mm). Aluminium alloy housing, dry motor, IP65, mounting at any angle within 0–180°. Options: delay valves, springs, limit switches, heater. The explosion-protected version is BEd (Ex d I Mb, Ex d IIB T4 Gb).

Storm Brakes and Rail Clamps
Storm protection devices for outdoor rail-mounted cranes: portal and gantry cranes, loading bridges in ports and on railways. The YFX storm wedge brake with an Ed80/6 thruster places a steel wedge under the crane wheel (Ø350–800 mm); holding force is 0.46 of the wheel load. DYLZ and YLBZ wheel brakes clamp the wheel with 50–180 kN. Rail clamps: hydraulic YJGQ (160–600 kN, QU70–QU150 rails, YZ1 power unit) and electro-hydraulic DYJG100 (200 kN). Limit switches for interlocking with the travel drive, hand release on YFX.

Brake Driving Devices: YT1/BYT1 Thrusters, DYG Cylinders, YZ Power Units
Driving devices for brakes and storm protection of cranes from the Driving Device section of the Zhonghai catalogue. YT1 thrusters (180–3,200 N, stroke 25–200 mm, 0.06–1.5 kW, IP54) and flameproof BYT1 (Ex d I, 127–1,140 V). DYG electro-hydraulic brake cylinders integrate a 550 W motor, hydraulic system and a cylinder with a 17–85 kN disc spring pack for SBD-DY brakes, wheel brakes and rail clamps. YZ hydraulic power units (10–20 MPa, 10–20 l/min, 2.2–7.5 kW) with accumulator and hand pump for release without power supply the pressure for SB/SBD safety brakes and YJGQ rail clamps.
