Bar & Wire Rod Mill Gearboxes CGC BAR-WIRE
Gearboxes for bar and wire rod mill stands use parallel helical stages. The horizontal H-type is available with gear shifting — two ratios in the range from 2/4 to 32/60 — or without shifting; the V-type has a bevel first stage and is mounted vertically. H-type without shifting and V-type cover ratios of 2–115. Output centre distance 350–750 mm, maximum rolling torque 55–600 kN·m, gearbox weight up to 30 t. Developed in cooperation with SMS; supplied to the Philippines, Indonesia, Spain and Mexico.
